Vu Thao-Vi Dao joined the PPM group as a postdoctoral researcher in 2013. She is a pharmacist (University Bonn, Germany) and in addition currently pursues a medical degree . She obtained her PhD with summa cum laude at the Pharmacology Department of the Heinrich Heine University, Duesseldorf, Germany. Her research focus on small molecules targeting the NO-sGC signaling in cardiovascular and neurological diseases such as stroke, hypertension and other oxidative stress related pathologies. The research tools she applies range from in-vitro models to animal models and clinical studies. In the course of her research she was awarded with a 2 years research grant funded by the research committee (FOKO) of the Medical faculty of the Heinrich Heine University. Other research awards include the young investigator prize from the European Cardiovascular Society (ESC) association. Her work has been published in several peer reviewed journals (web link).
